When a user logs in to a WordPress website, he can see the greetings word “Howdy” followed by the user name. “Howdy” stands for “how do you do?”. But this is not a very popular word and most people don’t use this word in their practical life. So you can change the word with your preferred word or you can remove this greeting completely.
Change or remove ‘Howdy Admin’ in WordPress
The easiest and quickest way to remove the “Howdy” text is to use a plugin. Here in this article, we will use the Admin Trim Interface WordPress
plugin. Install and activate the plugin and then go to the Appearance > Admin Trim page. From this page search for the Hide “Howdy” option. Check the box and it will remove the howdy text from your admin dashboard.
Click on the Save changes button and reload your admin dashboard, the howdy text will be removed.
Change Howdy text
To change the howdy text you need to use the Admin Customizer WordPress plugin. This plugin will enable you to customize your admin dashboard including the “Howdy” text.
Install and activate the plugin and go to Settings > AS Admin Customize page. From here you can customize your admin dashboard. Go to the
Dashboard Section tab and from the Update the Howdy Text field you can add your own text. With this plugin, you can also change the admin topbar, side menu, and sidebar color.
When everything is done click on the Save Changes button. It will change the “Howdy” text as your selected text.
